ThinkLite is proud to work with the Liberty Hotel, Boston.
Located on the former site of Boston’s iconic Charles Street Jail, The Liberty Hotel is perhaps the most unique luxury lodging and dining spot in the city. This busy hotel looks sleek and sophisticated on the surface, but to operate its nearly 300 guest rooms and three distinctive dining spots, it takes a huge ‘back of the house’ operation now completely illuminated by ThinkLite energy efficient LED lighting.
“ThinkLite was the logical choice for this project. Their technology allowed us to use the existing fluorescent light fixtures and simply retrofit the bulbs. That saved much time and money.” – Leanne Gordon, Enernoc Energy Specialist
Leanne Gordon, Energy Specialist for Enernoc, the company that conducted the efficiency initiative at The Liberty Hotel, said, “ThinkLite was the logical choice for this project. Their technology allowed us to use the existing fluorescent light fixtures and simply retrofit the bulbs. That saved much time and money. And when the time came to work with Eversource to determine the energy savings cash incentive, we were pleased that it was in excess of 50% of the entire project cost.”
In total, more than 1000 ThinkLite LED lamps were installed at The Liberty Hotel. “We had a solution for every fixture throughout the site,” said Dinesh Wadhwani, ThinkLite CEO. “The retrofits included T-8 in a variety of lengths, our exclusive “Dual Shine” product offering both up and down light, U-shaped LED tubes and T-5 LED tubes as well. The hotel was impressed that ThinkLite could meet all of their lighting needs, and retrofit the entire facility while providing better light throughout the ‘back of house’ area.”
Most of the ‘back of the house” operation is lit 24/7 and those areas that aren’t are on occupancy sensors. Because ThinkLite tubes cut energy consumption by more than 50%, the savings were significant from the start. “We were also impressed,” said Gerry Mendoza, Chief Engineer at The Liberty Hotel, “regarding how compatible ThinkLite tubes were to the occupancy sensors. That multiplied our energy savings.”
Michael Andersen, ThinkLite VP of North American Sales noted, “We have a great relationship with Enernoc and work hard to earn their trust every project.” Leanne Gordon echoed, “ThinkLite consistently delivers product quicker than most in the LED space. And their product is simply the easiest to install that we’ve worked with.”
