“We are thrilled to be working with the International Tennis Hall of Fame,” said Dinesh Wadhwani, ThinkLite founder and CEO. “We have become the go-to specialists for LED lighting retrofit of tennis clubs, but surely there is only one Hall of Fame, and to be their lighting partner is a great honor.”

International Tennis Hall of Fame selects ThinkLite
With a rich history dating back to its founding in 1880, The International Tennis Hall of Fame is the global centerpiece of what is often referred to as the ‘sport of kings’. Recently, the Hall of Fame, located in the glorious oceanfront town of Newport Rhode Island underwent a major renovation that included the grounds, the museum, and the indoor tennis facility.
When Daniel Paquette, owner’s representative for the Hall of Fame, sought alternatives to relamp the entire facility with an energy efficient solution, it became apparent that replacing all of the fixtures was going to be a costly and long process. “We wanted the efficiency of LED lighting”, said Paquette, “but the prospect of replacing every fixture in order to achieve our goals; better light and energy savings, was not the way we wanted to go. That’s when we discovered ThinkLite and their retrofit solution”.
“The reaction from the members has been extremely positive as the ThinkLite solution provides more even light, increased foot-candles at court level and no lighting hot spots.” – Daniel Paquette, owner’s representative
Mike Andersen, ThinkLite Vice President, North American Sales, observed, “The tennis building was originally lit with traditional T-8 fluorescents, which are inefficient, and provided low quality light on the tennis courts. ThinkLite was pleased to have the opportunity replace the fluorescents with its exclusive T-5 LED tubes, immediately reducing electrical consumption by over 30%, increasing light levels by 30% and eliminating lamp and ballast maintenance for ten years.”
“Only ThinkLite offers the T-5 LED tube that provides superior light compared to the old T-8 fluorescents.” said Paquette, “The reaction from the members has been extremely positive as the ThinkLite solution provides more even light, increased foot-candles at court level and no lighting hot spots.”
ThinkLite worked directly with the utility company, National Grid to secure a significant cash incentive rebate on the project. “ThinkLite was very meticulous in preparing the paperwork and following up with National Grid. We were impressed with their diligence and the savings they secured for the project,” said Paquette.
